How our air conditioning units work
All of our air conditioning packages come with an indoor and outdoor unit, you’ll also receive a remote control within the indoor unit, this is everything you need to have air conditioning installed in your home, or home office.
Indoor Unit – The indoor unit will typically be placed in a high-level position within your chosen room so they can supply the room with an even air flow.
Outdoor Unit – The outdoor unit takes the heat from your indoor unit and releases this outside. Depending on your home, you can have the outdoor unit fitted on an outside wall, roof, balcony or even on the floor in your garden for example.
The benefits of air conditioning
All year round use
Our air conditioning units mean you can make the most of your home office, or conservatory all year round, sometimes in the winter, they can be too cold, and in the summer, too warm. Thanks to the heating and cooling functions with our air conditioning units, you can sit back and relax all year round.
Pollen filtration
For anyone that suffers with pollen allergies, our air conditioning units may be the help you need this year to escape and relax in your home. Our air-filter technology means up to 95% of dust particles, smoke odour and pollen is eliminated from your home, giving you more of a chance to enjoy your summer.

Most of our home air conditioning installations fall within the indicative ranges below. Prices cover the equipment, installation and commissioning, and depend on the size of each room, the model you choose and how far apart the indoor and outdoor units are.
| System | Rooms | Indicative installed price |
|---|---|---|
| Single split | 1 room | £3,000 – £4,000 |
| Multi-split | 2 rooms | £5,000 – £8,000 |
| Multi-split | 3 rooms | £7,000 – £10,000 |
| Multi-split or multiple systems | 4 rooms or more | £10,000+ |
What affects the price: the cooling capacity (kW) each room needs, the length of the pipe run and the type of wall it passes through, where the outdoor unit goes (wall bracket, ground or flat roof), and premium models with extra air purification or design finishes. See our guide to air conditioning installation and running costs.
VAT: all prices are indicative and include all relevant taxes. Air conditioning that heats as well as cools is classed as an air source heat pump, so its supply and installation in your home is currently zero-rated for VAT (0%) until 31 March 2027.

Which air conditioning system do I need?
Single split: one room
One outdoor unit connected to one indoor unit. The simplest and lowest-cost option for a bedroom, home office, loft conversion or conservatory.
Multi-split: two to five rooms
One outdoor unit running several indoor units, each with its own temperature control. Ideal for cooling several bedrooms without a row of outdoor units on the wall.
Sizing: the rule of thumb
Allow about 0.1 kW of cooling per square metre of floor space for a typically insulated room with a standard ceiling height. Add 10–20% for south- or west-facing rooms with large windows, for kitchens and for rooms with high ceilings. As a guide:
- Bedroom or home office up to 20 m²: 2.0–2.5 kW
- Larger bedroom or living room, 20–35 m²: 2.5–3.5 kW
- Open-plan kitchen or living space, 35–50 m²: 3.5–5.0 kW
We confirm the right size at your free survey. An undersized unit runs flat out and struggles on the hottest days; an oversized one switches on and off constantly and wastes energy. Read our full guide: what size air conditioner do I need?
Air conditioning brands we install
We install systems from four leading manufacturers, so we can match the unit to your room, budget and taste rather than push one brand:
- Bosch: the Bosch Climate range of wall-mounted split systems.
- Mitsubishi Electric: known for very quiet indoor units, including the Zen design range.
- Daikin: the Stylish, Perfera and Emura ranges, with Flash Streamer air purification on selected models.
- Panasonic: the Etherea range, with nanoe X air purification.
All four brands heat as well as cool, and most models can be controlled from your phone over Wi-Fi. Compare their filtration in our guide to air conditioning filters.
